Questions and answers
The questions people ask before they request the code, answered plainly.
Is this investment advice?
No. We publish methods, rules and code. You decide whether, when and how to use them. StratoQuant is not licensed to give investment advice and nothing on this site is personalised to you.
Do you send signals, alerts or your positions?
No, never. There is no service that tells you what to buy or sell. You run the code yourself, and it tells you what its rules say about your own data.
How much Python do I need?
Enough to install Python, run a command in a terminal and prepare a CSV file. You do not need to write code. Reading it helps you trust it, and every file is commented. The Before you run it page walks through the setup.
Where does the market data come from?
From your own source: a market data provider, or an export from your broker or charting platform, used under terms that allow it. We do not supply data or recommend a provider.
Does the code connect to my broker or place orders?
No. It reads price files and prints results. Every order is yours to place, in your own account, if you choose to place it.
What exactly is free?
Two complete systems, Harrier_SPY and Owl_SPY: the rules in plain language, the Python code and the README with every assumption of the simulated test. Request one and we send both. They are free so you can judge the rules, the code and the way we work before anything is paid.
When are the paid systems available, and what do they cost?
Crane_ETF ($249) and Stork_NDX ($499) are being prepared as code releases, each one payment, no subscription. Use “Notify me at release” on a system's page to hear once when it is out.
Are the results real?
They are hypothetical backtests: simulated on past data with hindsight, not the results of a live account. Every page with figures says so above the first one, and every system page lists the assumptions behind its test.
Can you run a system for me or manage my money?
No. We do not manage money, hold funds or log in to anyone's account. The code is handed over and every decision stays with you.
Do you offer mentoring?
It is planned, not open yet. Mentoring will cover building and running your own mechanical system: the method, the testing and the code, never your positions or what to trade. You can leave your email on the services page.
I work at a firm. Can you build or license something for us?
Yes. System development, research infrastructure, model and tool licensing and applied AI work for firms that make their own decisions. Describe what you need in the enquiry form.
Still deciding?
The free code is the quickest way to see how we work.
